VIRTUAL REALITY IN APPLIED MECHANICS: ENHANCING LEARNING THROUGH IMMERSIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN VOCATIONAL TRAINING

The integration of Virtual Reality (VR) into vocational training programs offers transformative potential in teaching applied mechanics. This study investigates the role of immersive technologies in enhancing learning outcomes, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. VR provides an interactive and engaging platform for students to explore complex mechanical concepts, visualize systems in 3D, and conduct simulated experiments in a risk-free environment. The research highlights how VR tools improve comprehension of applied mechanics by enabling students to interact with dynamic models and conduct virtual troubleshooting tasks. Case studies from vocational training institutes demonstrate increased learner engagement, improved retention rates, and accelerated skill acquisition when using VR-enhanced curricula. Challenges such as the cost of implementation, technical barriers, and the need for instructor training are also discussed. Recommendations include scalable VR solutions, partnerships with technology providers, and the integration of VR modules into competency-based training frameworks. The findings underscore VR's potential as a powerful tool in preparing students for the demands of modern mechanical industries.
