Abstract

The given paper analyzes the correlation between social harmony and sustainable development from the linguistic and sociological perspective on the example of Uzbekistan. A closely related concept that together with sustainable development which combines economic growth with social inclusion and protection of the environment shares the limelight as a key priority is social harmony, which refers to a situation in which society operates in a state of peace and at ease with each other. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations dependent on social harmony which is an essential condition for SDGs reveals the study in the philosophical traditions of balance on the integration of differences. The novel research, which uses a qualitative, interdisciplinary approach, synthesizes literature from philosophy, sociology, policy analysis and case studies from 2010-2025. The main results emphasize social cohesion, trust and social capital to promote sustainable practices. The role of social cohesion in sustainable development and its impact on the region with a focus on the UNESCO project ‘Youth for Social Harmony in the Fergana Valley' in Uzbekistan is emphasized in policy documents and international experience. Finally, the paper ends with policy recommendations, namely ethical education, inclusive governance and social partnership; collectively they are argued to contribute to social cohesion as well as social innovations leading to sustainable reforms. The study promotes a comprehensive approach to harmony and sustainability that involves trust and justice in dealing with environmental issues by integrating various cultural aspects.
