THE ROLE OF DIGITAL LITERACY IN ENHANCING ONLINE RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC WRITING SKILLS

This study investigates the role of digital literacy in enhancing students' online research and academic writing skills. With the growing reliance on digital platforms for academic purposes, students must develop competencies in locating, evaluating, and synthesizing online information. The research examines how digital literacy—encompassing skills in using search engines, online databases, and citation tools—affects students' ability to conduct thorough research and produce well-structured academic papers. Data from surveys, writing assessments, and interviews reveal that students with strong digital literacy skills perform better in both the research process and the quality of their written work. The study highlights the need for integrating digital literacy education into academic curricula to improve research outcomes and academic writing standards.
