ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE MEETS ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING: INSIGHTS FROM A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

This systematic review explores the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and English Language Teaching (ELT), providing insights into how AI technologies are transforming language education. By synthesizing findings from recent studies, the review examines the applications, benefits, and challenges of integrating AI in ELT. Key AI innovations include adaptive learning systems, intelligent tutoring platforms, speech recognition tools, and automated feedback mechanisms. These technologies enhance personalization, engagement, and efficiency in language instruction, catering to diverse learner needs. The review highlights evidence of improved learning outcomes, particularly in pronunciation accuracy, vocabulary acquisition, and grammar comprehension. However, it also identifies challenges, such as the digital divide, data privacy concerns, and the need for teacher readiness.
