THE ROLE OF MOBILE DEVICES IN PROMOTING SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING AMONG SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

This study explores the role of mobile devices in promoting self-directed learning among senior high school students. With the increasing availability of smartphones and tablets, mobile devices have become essential tools for fostering independent learning and improving academic performance. The research investigates how mobile technology supports self-directed learning behaviors, such as goal setting, time management, and the use of educational apps and resources. Through surveys and interviews with students and teachers, the study examines the ways in which mobile devices enhance students' motivation, learning autonomy, and access to diverse learning materials. The findings suggest that when used effectively, mobile devices can significantly empower students to take control of their learning process. The study also identifies challenges, including distractions and inadequate guidance, and offers recommendations for integrating mobile technology into educational practices to support self-directed learning.
