Abstract

Understanding how students approach and solve problems is critical for developing effective educational systems. This paper introduces a cognitive model that maps the problem-solving processes of learners in diverse educational contexts. By integrating insights from cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and educational psychology, the model captures key elements of problem-solving, including goal setting, strategy formulation, and error correction. Applications of the model in adaptive learning platforms and intelligent tutoring systems are explored, demonstrating its potential to personalize instruction and improve learning outcomes. The study also identifies challenges in implementing cognitive models, such as data complexity and the need for real-time adaptability, providing recommendations for future advancements in educational technology.
