This article analyzes the lexical, morphological, and syntactic features of bloggers’ and journalists’ speech from the perspective of modern media linguistics. In recent years, the rapid development of digital communication technologies and social media platforms has significantly transformed the structure and dynamics of language used in the media environment. As a result, blogging discourse has emerged as a new form of communication that exists alongside traditional journalistic discourse and contributes to the formation of new linguistic patterns in contemporary media language.
The main purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the distinctive linguistic characteristics of bloggers’ and journalists’ speech and to determine the similarities and differences between these two forms of media discourse. Particular attention is given to lexical diversity, the use of borrowings and slang expressions, morphological innovations, and syntactic structures typical of blogging communication. At the same time, the research examines the standardized and normative linguistic features that characterize journalistic texts.
The research is based on descriptive and comparative linguistic analysis of examples taken from digital media platforms and traditional journalistic publications. The results show that bloggers’ speech is characterized by dynamic vocabulary, informal grammatical constructions, expressive stylistic devices, and interactive communication strategies aimed at engaging audiences. In contrast, journalistic discourse generally follows standardized language norms, formal vocabulary, and logically structured syntactic patterns designed to ensure clarity, objectivity, and reliability of information.
The study also demonstrates that the interaction between blogging discourse and traditional journalism contributes to the development and enrichment of modern media language. Blogging introduces innovative lexical units and communicative strategies into the language system, while journalism continues to serve as a stabilizing factor that maintains linguistic norms and professional standards. Consequently, the research highlights the growing importance of media linguistics in understanding the transformation of language in the digital era and the evolving relationship between new media and traditional journalism.
